Heartland Hamswww.heartlandhams.org (new site)
The Heartland Hams are a group of folks from South West Iowa and South East Nebraska. Although these Hams aren’t a “club“, they do get together and hold exceptional meetings/demonstrations/social events. I find myself almost always on their large repeater system. With repeater sites in strategic locations that include Minden Iowa, Missouri Valley Iowa,  Omaha Nebraska, Mineola Iowa, Red Oak Iowa, Shenandoah Iowa, Clarinda Iowa, Villisca Iowa, Nebraska City Nebraska and their flagship machine in Glenwood Iowa (145.29-), the coverage of this linked system is vast. This is sometimes referred to as the “Cornbores” or “Corn Bores” network. Click here to see the famous repeater protection system.

AK-SAR-BEN Amateur Radio Clubwww.aksarbenarc.org
Ak-Sar-Ben ARC (AARC) is a large club located in Omaha Nebraska and meet at the American Red Cross Heartland Chapter building at 2912 South 80th Avenue (81st & Spring). AARC sponsors regularly scheduled Volunteer Examiners as part of the ARRL VEC program (this is where I tested for my ticket). AARC operates two repeaters in the Omaha area, 146.94- and 224.90+, with the call sign of K0USA.

Bellevue Amateur Radio Clubwww.bellevuearc.org
BARC is located in Bellevue Nebraska and operates a 2-meter repeater, 147.39+ output PL tone 131.8, with the call sign of W0WYV. I’ve attended a few BARC events to volunteer communications services such as, the Offutt A.F.B. air show and MS Bike-A-Thon. Nice group of folks.

Plattsmouth Amateur Radio Clubwww.plattsmouthamateurradioclub.org
The only club I “officially” belong to, PARC is a small, very friendly, group of hams (and their families) that get together often for good company. A few members meet weekly at the Burger King in Plattsmouth Nebraska at 6:30pm. This is also where I get most of my amateur radio/electronics questions answered by either Ray (N5SEZ), Kevin (KI0PY) or Roger (KB0OGO). PARC operates one repeater in Omaha Nebraska, 443.45+ PL 100, with the call sign of KB0SMX.

Southwest Iowa Amateur Radio Clubwww.k0swi.org
SWIARC is based out of Council Bluffs Iowa and maintains a popular local repeater, 146.82-, with the call sign of K0SWI. The repeater coverage for me has been superb — when I need to speak with a local Ham and all else fails, we QSY to the 147.82- machine.
